In Scandinavia, we are brought up wearing wool as the inner layer. The superlatives are many when it comes to the advantages of wearing wool: wool breathes and insulates, dries quickly and is soft and comfortable on the body. We use the finest merino wool with natural FR-properties (Flame Retardant), without chemicals. If you burn a wool fiber it will not melt or drip like for example synthetic fibers. This makes wool the ideal fabric to wear close to your body. For many, the mere thought of wool means itch and discomfort. Fear not, these days are long gone and in the Nordic region, all people and ages wear wool. Wool fibers have tiny pockets of air that provide a buffering layer of natural climate control.
This natural buffering capacity helps the body maintain a stable core temperature. Wool can also bind liquid perspiration, which means that sweat is neutralized. Wool can also be dried in minus temperatures. The result is that this inner layer provides not only an insulated base layer but also crucial protection from the threats of fires and burns. Used alone or in layers, the protection only increases with the number of FR-layers on the body. Given the many benefits of wool, it is perfect in combination with any clothing on the market today.

The NFM® Group has become the direct distributor of Ops-Core® helmet systems in eleven European countries. The Ops-Core® brand is already well-known within the military society. For many years, different head protection manufacturers tried to find a compromise between low weight, modularity and a high level of protection. Ops-Core® solved this challenge in the most efficient and sophisticated way possible. FAST (Future Assault Shell Technology) is an integrated head protection system that improves the cooperation between the helmet and the head borne equipment. Here, Ops-Core® offers a product that enables using goggles, NVD’s, communication headsets, flashlights and illuminators – simultaneously, without interfering with each other. The main shell can be improved by adding an optional side and front protection covering the user’s face and ears. In addition, Ops-Core® is completely compatible with various O2 and gas masks. An improved chinstrap provides much better stability and EPP impact pads protect the user’s neck from impact. For more information please visit www.ops-core.com or contact us for a catalog. |
